St Mirren defender Alex Gogic insists his side won’t fear Celtic when the sides meet in the Premier Sports Cup final.

The Paisley side swept Motherwell aside with a 4-1 win at the national stadium on Saturday, and Celtic’s extra-time win over Rangers a day later means the Buddies will face the holders in the showpiece final on December 14.

As holders, and Premiership champions, Celtic will be massive favourites to lift the cup when the team meets but Gogic says that doesn’t mean his team will go in expecting the worst.

“You’ve got to give them respect but at the moment I don’t think we fear anyone,” he told STV.

“The way we’re playing, I think we’ve been unlucky in the league. The performances have been there but the results haven’t.

“On Saturday it showed that if we continue performing then results will come.

“We’ll focus on the league now and when the day comes, there’s nothing to lose.”

The semi-final was the first time St Mirren had reached Hampden since 2021, and they are in a cup final for the first time since their League Cup triumph in 2013.
