Keith Andrews made it four wins out of five last night as The Bees side-stepped the potato skin of a trip to Grimsby Town and reached the League Cup quarter finals in some style. The Mariners may have beaten Manchester United in the second round (a fact that Sky’s commentary team seemed under contractual obligation to make sure everybody was aware of) but there was to be no Premier League scalp taken this time.

Instead, Brentford romped to a 5-0 win to reach the quarter finals for the second year in a row. A much changed line up from Saturday’s defeat of Liverpool (which we will look to at the end of this piece) was still a really strong starting XI with most of the usual bench involved from the off.

Captain for the night Mathias Jensen leading the charge with a wonderful strike to open proceedings and from there on, it was game over as goal followed goal.
