Liverpool’s superb start to the season has been turned upside down by their almighty collapse in form, having lost their last four Premier League games – but that will still see Mohamed Salah break a record that hasn’t been touched for almost ten years.

Liverpool recorded a series of late winners in the first month of the campaign, notably a 100th-minute winner over Newcastle United and Mohamed Salah’s 95th-minute penalty against Burnley, to take them top of the Premier League heading into the end of September.

However, four losses have since succeeded that, and with results going against them, that has seen Arne Slot’s men go seventh. Already seven points from the top of the table and in desperate need of an upturn in form, Liverpool are struggling.

But on a personal note, Mohamed Salah could still break a record for the best contribution to a single club in Premier League history over Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney.
