Newcastle United had a huge transfer saga to contend with over the summer window, but they can be happy that they kept the majority of their stars going into the new campaign.

Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool dominated the headlines for the last month of the transfer window, with the Swedish star heading to Anfield in the final hours of the window to join Arne Slot’s title charge.

It’s seen Newcastle sign Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa as his replacements, which proved to be a tough task when they were turned down by the likes of Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko throughout the window before their moves to Premier League clubs.

But nonetheless, they have come out of the summer period in a strong position, ready to hit the season head on.

And keeping hold of Kieran Trippier could prove to be arguably their best move of the summer after links away from St. James’ Park.
