Crystal Palace target Wallace Yan has taken his first steps towards rebuilding his image at Flamengo. The youngster has begun mental coaching sessions following his recent disciplinary issues.

As reported by Globo Esporte, the 20-year-old forward has started working with Cleiton Carvalho, a mental coach who previously guided Luiz Henrique. The former Botafogo winger – now playing at Zenit – who went on to be voted South America’s best player last season. 

Their first session took place on Wednesday.That was ahead of Wallace Yan’s meeting with Flamengo director José Boto and coach Filipe Luís. The club plans to fine the youngster after his ten-minute cameo and red card against Bahia.

The move marks an attempt to restore balance after a string of controversies. The Crystal Palace target has already clashed with players such as Hulk (Atlético Mineiro) and members of Fluminense’s squad. His behaviour had been under scrutiny even before the Bahia incident
