Liverpool definitely held Semenyo in high regard earlier in the summer.

Sources at the time told Confidential he was one they may pursue but the whispers went quiet and we did not really hear much from that point onwards. There were more murmurings after the first game of the season – at that point Liverpool still needed a forward.
