Danny Rohl will feel encouraged as Rangers have history on their side as they return to Scottish Premiership action against Dundee United at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Bears have done a brilliant job to get back into the mix for the title, and they need to finish the regular season in convincing fashion before the split.

Back-to-back wins over St Mirren and Aberdeen have left Rohl’s side three points behind Hearts with just seven games to go.

They now face Jim Goodwin’s Dundee United, who sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership, but come off the back of a fantastic 2-0 win over Celtic before the international break.

Rangers should beat Dundee United comfortably, and could go top ahead of Hearts, even if only for a day.

Both meetings this season ended in 2-2 draws, with the Bears needing late equalisers on both occasions to rescue themselves from embarrassing defeats.

Rangers are unbeaten in 12 league meetings with Dundee United since a 1-0 defeat at Tannadice in August 2021.

In fact, Dundee United have only won one of their last 22 league visits to Rangers, a 3-2 victory in April 2011 under Peter Houston.
