Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to secure the services of Rangers centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez this summer.

Fernandez has emerged on the radar of Premier League clubs after an incredible first season at Ibrox.

The Nigeria international joined from Peterborough for £3.5m, and Rangers now stand in line to make a profit if they cash in this summer.

According to the Peterborough Telegraph, Arsenal are said to be leading the chase to sign Fernandez in the coming months.

The Gers want £35m for the 24-year-old and that is not something that is expected to put the Gunners off.

Fernandez made headlines recently, scoring his first goal for Nigeria on just his second appearance for the national team.

That strike certainly will have put his suitors on high alert, as, along with his defending and passing ability, he is also known for his goal-scoring exploits.

Along with Arsenal, a club owned by American billionaire Stan Kroenke, other Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Everton and West Ham are also admirers of the former Peterborough defender.
