Sheffield Wednesday’s Wembley hero, Josh Windass, has spoken about the situation at the club since he departed last summer.

Windass was one of several players to leave after the club failed to pay wages in consecutive months. He left on a personal high, becoming the club’s top scorer this century with 53 goals.

The forward joined Wrexham on a free transfer and has started life in Wales well. He’s currently playing a crucial role in the Red Dragons’ push for the Premier League.

Despite all his focus being on Wrexham’s play-off push, he has discussed the situation at Hillsborough recently on talkSPORT.

Speaking on the show, Windass explained how “incredible” the story is and the level of some players playing for his former club:

“It’s an incredible story, to lose that many games in a season is kind of unheard of.

“Obviously they’ve got players that are really not at this level because of the situation that they’ve been in.

“I know the manager really well, obviously he was Danny Rohl’s assistant last year, he was a very talented coach.
