David Storch’s consortium have hired one of the UK’s top sports barristers to assist with their takeover of Sheffield Wednesday.

Storch and co have been announced as the preferred bidders of the Owls after the James Bord consortium pulled out of their deal.

Storch is named alongside son Michael and businessman Tom Costin as the members leading Arise Capital Partners LLC’s (Arise) takeover of the club.

Now, the three have to pass the EFL’s tests to become the new owners of the club, as well as trying to help avoid potential further penalties.

To help, they’ve hired Nick De Marco, who is regarded as the ‘go-to’ for all football law matters.

The news of the hire was shared by Alex Miller of the Star, with Rob Staton confirming the reports as well.

De Marco has been approached by Arise to assist should any issues arise with the EFL.
