Daniel James says Leeds United's disallowed goal in defeat to Sunderland was heart-breaking, but his side were always a threat to their opponents, which is why the Black Cats dug in as they did.

Leeds enjoyed 70 percent of possession against Sunderland at Ellan Road, with the visitors happy to let Daniel Farke's men have the ball and dominate in that regard. With just one shot on target and a 1-0 win to show for it, it was a real smash and grab job by the Wearsiders.

James, who was introduced as a 74th minute substitute after his side had gone behind to a penalty, says Leeds must improve on handling teams who will sit in and soak up the pressure. But the Wales international is convinced his team posed a suitable enough threat to come away with the win.

“We worked really hard. Obviously to score that goal and then be offside was a little bit heart-breaking to be fair," James told LUTV.
