Romeo Lavia is set to feature for Chelsea's Under-21s side on Friday afternoon as the midfielder prepares for his first competitive minutes since November.

The 22-year-old midfielder went off early in the Blues' draw with Qarabag on November 5 after injuring his quadriceps and has been out ever since. Chelsea are hopeful Lavia will be in the squad for next weekend's trip to Arsenal in the Premier League as he nears his return following a three-and-a-half month layoff.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 for £58million, Lavia's time on the pitch has been significantly impacted by constant injury problems. The Belgian midfielder has only made a total of 30 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions despite being at the club for two-and-a-half years.
