This weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final weekend will include a remarkable match-up, with League One’s bottom club Port Vale – who are 15 points adrift of safety and seemingly destined for relegation to the fourth tier – travelling to Stamford Bridge to take on World Club Cup champions, Chelsea (Saturday April 4, 17:15 kick-off).

It has been some journey for the Valiants to reach the last eight for the first time since the 1953/54 season, with the previous two rounds yielding victories against higher-level opposition.

New Zealand international, Ben Waine, was the goalscoring hero in both Round Four and Round Five, netting an extra-time winner against Championship side Bristol City, before his first-half header put out Premier League Sunderland, to earn his side their historic trip to Stamford Bridge.
