Tottenham Hotspur made the long-awaited decision to sack Thomas Frank last week after realising partway through his first season in charge that his project wasn’t working.

After doing a quick search on who would be the best possible option to replace Frank, the Lilywhites hierarchy decided to appoint Igor Tudor on an interim basis. The Croat has been given the keys to the club until the end of the season and will take charge of his first game on Sunday when Spurs play Arsenal in a high-voltage North London derby.

Tottenham went with an interim appointment of Tudor, with the idea of giving themselves more options for the permanent managerial position in the summer. Also, there is still a season to salvage: Spurs’ spiral down the Premier League has meant they sit in 16th place, just five points clear of the relegation zone.

In the meantime, talk will continue about who will be the permanent successor to Frank and which direction the North London club will shift in this summer.
