Tottenham Hotspur are battling several of their rivals for a young midfielder who has been likened to Arsenal star Declan Rice.

Tottenham’s inability to progress the ball from back to front was one of the major issues under Thomas Frank.

That perhaps explains why Spurs are reportedly ready to spend big on a midfield playmaker in the summer, with their squad looking in need of major surgery.

It has emerged over recent weeks that Tottenham have scouted a 20-year-old Serbian midfield sensation, but the Lilywhites have now discovered that they will face plenty of competition for his services.

The player in question is Aleksandar Stankovic, son of Inter Milan legend Dejan, who has been turning a lot of heads with his performances for Club Brugge this season.

The 20-year-old deep-lying playmaker has taken his game to a new level since joining the Belgian side from Inter last summer, and it has now been revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could battle Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United for his services.
