Manchester United should explore a deal for Brentford star Michael Kayode to reinforce the right-back department during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are likely to focus on defensive signings later this year. A holding midfielder will be a top priority for the club, but a defender could be signed too.

Juventus ace Pierre Kalulu, who can play in central defence or right-back, has recently emerged as a target. He could be available for around £26 million.

Kalulu has found success as a right-back under manager Luciano Spalletti, but we believe the club should look within the Premier League to reinforce the position.

In our view, Brentford’s Kayode would be a fine acquisition for the Red Devils. He would provide an upgrade on Diogo Dalot, with Noussair Mazraoui possibly on his way out.

The 21-year-old has been brilliant with his defensive attributes for the Bees. He has won almost six duels per league game this season, with 4.5 recoveries, 2.8 clearances and 1.9 tackles.

In comparison, Dalot, who has been the regular right-back for United in recent weeks, has won only four duels per outing with 3.6 recoveries, 2.7 clearances and 1.5 tackles...
