Marc Cucurella is set to undergo scans on a potential hamstring injury after he was substituted at half-time in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Leeds United.

Cucurella was named in Liam Rosenior’s starting lineup on Tuesday evening, but did not return after the half-time interval due to an injury.

Jorrel Hato came on as his replacement, with Chelsea doubling their advantage shortly afterwards when Cole Palmer scored from the spot after Joao Pedro had given the hosts the lead before the break.

However, six minutes of madness saw Chelsea throw away their lead as goals from Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor earned Daniel Farke’s side an unlikely away point at Stamford Bridge.

The result means Chelsea missed out on the opportunity to leapfrog Manchester United and move back into the top four.

And there was more bad news shortly after full-time when Rosenior confirmed that Cucurella could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

‘Unfortunately at half-time he felt his hamstring,’ the Chelsea boss explained. ‘It wasn’t a tactical change, it was one that was enforced.
