Last weekend’s bar room brawl in the last few minutes against eventual victors Chelsea could have major repercussions for defender Jean Clair Todibo: The red mist descended and his attempt to throttle an opponent quite rightly earned him an early shower. The only surprising part of the whole incident was that Todibo alone got his marching orders when Mavropanos and debutant Traore could just as easily have joined him.

The bad news is likely to keep on coming for Todibo who received a three game ban and missed yesterday’s Burnley trip and won’t be available for the Manchester United Premier League encounter on Tuesday or the FA Cup fourth round tie agains Burton Albion at the weekend.

The West Ham defender may just find he doesn’t get his place back. Debutant Axel Disasi strolled imperiously around looking as if he’d been playing all season and looks to have inspired Mavropanos to ‘up’ his game: As footballinsider247.com observed:
