Rangers have a loan deal agreed with Southampton for Cameron Archer, but Danny Rohl is working on a backup plan.

Archer has emerged as a target for Rangers over the final days of the winter transfer window, as Rohl desperately looks to sign a striker before Monday’s deadline.

Centre-forward is a position that the Gers have been looking to bolster throughout these winter sales, but have so far been frustrated in their attempts.

A host of names have been touted with moves to Ibrox, and Rohl is determined to get one through the door before the window shuts.

Rohl has made a breakthrough in his pursuit to sign a striker, but he’s still not totally satisfied.

Rangers have agreed to sign Rayan Naderi in the summer, with the 22-year-old Hansa Rostock star now set to remain with the German third-tier side for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

So, whilst that has seemingly ended Rangers’ striker search for the summer, it’s not an ideal situation for Rohl, as he remains set on signing a centre-forward who can join right now.
