Rangers are still uncertain about signing Southampton striker Cameron Archer in the final hours of the winter transfer window on Monday.

The Gers are pursuing a deal for the 24-year-old centre-forward and will be hoping to complete it before the 11pm deadline on 2 February.

Archer has emerged as a concrete target at Ibrox, with the Light Blues unable to get a deal over the line for Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi before the end of the season.

Danilo has been spotted in the Netherlands as he prepares to complete a move to NEC Nijmegen, but the coming hours will certainly be pivotal in G51.

Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen and Southampton’s Adam Armstrong are all involved in a striker merry-go-round.

The French attacker is being linked to AC Milan, with the Eagles looking at Strand Larsen, which leaves Wolves wanting the Saints’ striker as a replacement.

All of this could affect whether the Gers can secure Archer, as Southampton wouldn’t want Armstrong to leave if the English forward’s move to Glasgow goes through.
