Rangers have reached a verbal agreement to sign Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi.

However, the 22-year-old is not expected to arrive at Ibrox on deadline day as the Germans stand firm in their demand for Naderi to remain in 3. Liga until the end of the season, as per the Rangers Review.

The Scottish club, who had made approaches of more than £3m, found their initial advances rebuffed.

By the weekend, talks had progressed, with Rangers and Hansa Rostock forming the framework of an eventual transfer deal.

One proposal was for Naderi to formally complete the switch and immediately be loaned back to Daniel Brinkmann's side for the remainder of their title challenge.

But it is understood that Naderi - who made it clear last week that he wished to make the switch to Scotland - is poised to become a Rangers player in the summer as both parties look to conclude a deal for a delayed arrival.

Discussions are now underway for his summer move to the Scottish team.
