Bar Conor Gallagher’s signing, Tottenham Hotspur have primarily focused on departures in this winter transfer window thus far. They have recalled a fair few young talents from loan spells and sent them out on loan again for the remainder of the season, whilst making a bold call by selling Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.

Spurs are in a pickle at the moment, having dropped to 14th in the Premier League table and been ousted from two domestic cup competitions. With the atmosphere around N17 borderline toxic and Thomas Frank failing to get the best out of the squad, a few fringe players are looking to leave the club on loan for regular game time.

Mathys Tel is one of those. The young forward has struggled to get minutes under his belt since Thomas Frank took charge of the club back in June 2025. The Frenchman has been far from a regular starter for Tottenham this season, clocking just 685 minutes across 19 appearances.
