Stephan, who arrived at the Rs in the summer, insisted he is mainly focused on what his players can do as he is unable to predict what side interim boss Tonda Eckert will field.

The 32 year old German coach is set to take charge of his first Saints game this evening, having been put in interim charge while Johannes Spors searches for a permanent successor.

Eckert is tasked with ending a five-game winless run and will need to lean on his experience as assistant manager at Genoa and then Championship side Barnsley.

It is unclear who Eckert has available to him, with Cam Archer and Ryan Fraser missing the recent defeat to Preston with injury, as he did not face the media for a pre-match press conference.

QPR's Stéphan is similarly in the dark and admitted his side may need to wait until the teamsheets are in before finalising their tactics.
