Will Still has been backed to make a potential return to France following his disastrous spell at Southampton.

Still was sacked by Southampton on Sunday following a disastrous spell since his arrival in the summer. He managed just 16 games at the club, with four wins, six draws and six defeats in all competitions. He left the club sitting 21st in the Championship table.

His first attempt to move into English football has not worked out. And Homme du Match believe a return to France could be on the cards.

They say he’s seen his ‘dream thwarted’ at Southampton, which was a ‘resounding failure’. And that will have seen his stock weakened in England. That’s something which could lead him to consider a return to France.

Several French clubs could soon find themselves looking for a new manager. Stade Rennais are one possible destination, with Habib Beye’s situation unclear. And AS Saint-Étienne, where Eirik Horneland is under pressure, also represent ‘a credible option.’ There may even be options in Ligue...
