No less than seven former FIFA referees have delivered their expert views on the officiating controversy during Sunday's pulsating match between Rangers and Celtic.

The ex-SFA referee turned to social media to share his thoughts and seek opinions on key incidents during the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

Madden had previously stated that Thelo Aargaard's red card for a tackle on Anthony Ralston was justified.

He also felt Auston Trusty should have been sent off for kicking Jack Butland in the head.

Additionally, he believed the penalty decision without a yellow card for Ralston was correct.

After consulting with seven former top officials, Madden shared the results of his private poll on Instagram.

He said: “Give yourselves a huge pat on the back, you got them all correct! Not just my opinion, but that of seven top foreign FIFA referees.

“I like to share my initial thoughts, but like to challenge them to ensure I’m not losing the place amongst the madness. Their scores for those interested.
