It's now two months until the January transfer window opens. And while Liverpool may have spent a Premier League record £446m in the summer window, that has not stopped more players being tipped to join the defending champions.

That may well be partly down to their form. Tonight the Reds will look to avoid losing five league games in a row for the first time since the 1953-54 season when they welcome in-form Aston Villa to Anfield (8pm kick-off).

But there is no doubting that Arne Slot has a powerful squad at this disposal, especially when he has all his players fit, and results will soon surely turn. That said there is an argument to suggest that the Liverpool head coach could still do with another attacker.
