Oliver Glasner insisted it would be disrespectful to Liverpool's players to suggest his Crystal Palace side defeated a weakened team at Anfield.

The Eagles progressed to the fifth round of the Carabao Cup with a commanding 3-0 victory, with Yeremy Pino adding to Ismaila Sarr's first-half double - heaping more pressure on Reds boss Arne Slot and his struggling champions.

The Dutchman made sweeping alterations from Saturday's 3-2 loss to Brentford, bringing in 10 fresh faces including youngsters Rio Ngumoha, Kieran Morrison, Trey Nyoni and Calvin Ramsay in a matchday squad lacking any senior players among the substitutes.

The controversial move was slammed by many Liverpool fans, as the record 10-time winners of the League Cup were dispatched with ease by the visitors.

However, Glasner emphasised the calibre and experience within Slot's XI, reports the Liverpool Echo. He said: "We saw Arne Slot's decision and it is disrespectful to all their players [to say it was a weak team].
