Six months ago, Arne Slot was celebrating winning the Premier League title after Liverpool thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield. Few would have thought that he would find his position in the Reds' hot-seat questioned only half-a-year later.

But after his side suffered a sixth defeat from their last seven outings, the pressure is mounting on the Dutchman - outside of the club at least. It did not take bookmakers long to slash odds further on the Liverpool head coach losing his job after his much-changed line-up fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

And if the toxic consensus across social media was used to make the managerial decisions at Anfield, Slot would perhaps have already been handed his P45. But that vocal minority, however overwhelming that it may appear, at times, never paints a full picture.
