Former Premier League striker Dimitar Berbatov is backing Florian Wirtz to find success at Liverpool. The ex-Tottenham and Manchester United man has referenced his own career experiences as reasons to be patient with the £116million summer signing.

Wirtz started Liverpool's first four Premier League games of the new campaign before being taken out of the team by Arne Slot after struggling to make a lasting impact in front of goal. He has since been used from the bench three times, but he has been deployed from the off for every Champions League game.

The Germany international is yet to score for his new club, but he did grab two assists in Liverpool's latest European outing against Eintracht Frankfurt. As he is regularly in the headlines, Wirtz was one of the topics brought up by Rio Ferdinand during his chat with Berbatov on the Rio Ferdinand presents YouTube channel.
