Steven Davis and Neil McCann are reportedly in a two-way battle to join Danny Rohl's coaching staff at Rangers.

It's claimed that the pair are being considered as possible candidates to join the coaching staff under the new manager at Ibrox.

Rohl previously stated he would aim to add a former Rangers player to his coaching staff.

He said: "I try to bring a former Rangers player with a good background here as well because for me it’s important to take this advantage form a guy who knows Rangers, who knows the league, why should I not use this? This would be a perfect set up for me."

Rohl has already added Sascha Lense and Matthias Kaltenberch to his backroom team.

A short club statement read: "Sascha Lense joins as our new Men's First Team Performance Manager and Matthias Kaltenbach has been appointed to the role of Assistant Coach.

"Welcome to Rangers, Sascha and Matthias."

However, the Daily Record now reports it's between Davis and McCann to offer ex-Rangers player insight on the coaching staff.
