Rangers star James Tavernier could make history in the clash with Hibernian on Wednesday.

Tavernier was linked with a Rangers exit in the summer, but ultimately outlasted Russell Martin at Ibrox, as the manager was dismissed.

Danny Rohl replaced Martin, and he has a mixed start to life in Govan, with one win and one loss so far in the two games that he has managed.

Tavernier’s frustration was clear after Rangers’ defeat to SK Brann on 23 October, but he will have been happy with the win over Kilmarnock, and will hope to continue the momentum at Easter Road.

Tavernier is expected to captain Rangers when they make the trip to face the Edinburgh side on 29 October.

Tavernier could become the leading assister in Rangers vs Hibernian matches, as he is currently level with five other players on three in the history of the contest.

He could also join Alfredo Morelos as the top goalscorer in the fixture, although he would need to score a brace to do that.
