Jadon Sancho should have left Villa Park with a smug smile on his face. Having seen his Aston Villa side beat former club Manchester City in a tight game in the Midlands.

But he departed the ground with a face like thunder instead. While Villa celebrated a serious high, all Sancho had managed to achieve was a new low.

Which is some going, considering how his career has gone backwards in recent times. The winger has not started a game since joining Villa on-loan from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

And despite being sent on before half time against Pep Guardiola's men, he went on to suffer the ultimate humiliation of being hauled off in the second half.

Unai Emery tried to explain his reasons, but Sancho wasn't interested and brushed past, him before taking his seat back on the bench.
