Chelsea could soon owe Palmeiras another big paycheck. Estêvão is getting close to triggering one of the key bonuses in his deal.

The 18-year-old forward is the only Brazilian finalist for the 2025 Golden Boy award. The prize, organised by Tuttosport, recognises the best under-21 player in Europe.

The young attacker started well at Chelsea, and Palmeiras structured the deal to profit from their academy player’s success. His £52m move from the Brazilian club includes several performance bonuses that could raise the total fee significantly.

Brazilian reports say Palmeiras may earn up to £13.3m (R$96m) in extra payments. These depend on Estêvão reaching 70 appearances for Chelsea within two seasons. Other clauses reward goals, assists and trophies won with the club.

One of the major bonuses is tied to the Golden Boy award. If Estêvão wins it within three seasons, Palmeiras will receive another big sum from Chelsea.

The award is often given towards the end of the calendar year, incorporating two half-seasons, as it were, when deciding the winner.

Now as the award ceremony approaches, Palmeiras will cheer for Chelsea’s new star to bring more money back home.
