Alexis Mac Allister has admitted he hasn't been satisfied with the start of his season with Liverpool, but hopes a positive international break with Argentina can kickstart his campaign. The midfielder scored a first half brace for the reigning world champions as they thrashed Puerto Rico 6-0 in Miami on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the international friendly, marking the first time he has completed a full 90 minutes since the Reds' 1-0 victory over Leicester City back in April.

The midfielder saw his previous season ended prematurely by injury. And while it had been hoped that he would return to fitness in time for the start of pre-season he, ultimately, did not forge a comeback until the end of July.
