Liverpool striker Alexander Isak says Sweden are in a ‘crisis situation’ after the ’embarrassing’ defeat to Kosovo has left their hopes of World Cup qualification in major doubt.

Sweden suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Kosovo on Monday night which leaves them bottom of Group B with just one point from four games.

Jon Dahl Tomasson is now facing calls to resign as Sweden’s head coach as they now need Kosovo to lose both of their remaining games to stand any chance of securing a place in the World Cup qualifying play-offs.

‘It’s too damn bad. Embarrassing. Disappointed once again,’ Isak said after Sweden’s latest defeat.

‘We’re playing too badly. The way we’re playing doesn’t work. We’re doing it too badly individually too. So it’s a combination of everything really.
