Manchester United are plotting a shock £60m raid on Crystal Palace for England star Adam Wharton.

United boss Ruben Amorim has kept close tabs on Wharton's progress, and has become a huge fan of the midfielder. The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in English football in the last 18 months.

Wharton joined Palace from Blackburn for £18m in 2024. And he has gone on to have an integral role in helping Palace enjoy the most successful period in their history under Oliver Glasner.

Wharton has been a massive part of Palace winning the FA Cup and securing European qualification.

Amorim will look to strengthen his midfield next summer, with both Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro expected to leave Old Trafford.
