Chelsea captain Millie Bright says she is “always available” for England selection – but she is currently focused on club duties.

The centre half withdrew from international consideration ahead of the summer’s Euros in Switzerland, saying she was unable to give her maximum either mentally or physically.

England went on to defend the European crown they won in 2022.

Sarina Wiegman will shortly be announcing her squad for friendlies against Brazil and Australia later this month.

But although Bright said she would “have to see what comes” regarding international competition, she reiterated that she is concentrating on the start of Chelsea’s UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign, which begins against FC Twente on Wednesday.

“It’s exciting,” Bright told a press conference. “It’s the competition every player wants to play in, you dream of it as a little kid, going from watching it on the TV and having that excitement, to then being able to play in it – it’s a privilege, and it’s a competition that is never taken lightly.
