Cheltenham Town have signed midfielder Ben Stevenson until the end of the season, with the option of another year.

The 28-year-old is a free agent having left Cambridge United at the end of last season and becomes the first signing for returning Robins boss Steve Cotterill.

Stevenson is a Coventry City academy graduate and has also played for Wolves, Colchester United, Forest Green Rovers and Portsmouth.

He has made more than 200 EFL appearances and is in the squad for Saturday's home League Two game against Fleetwood Town.
