Norwich fans enjoying their last trip to Portman Road, a 2-2 draw in December 2023

Extra trains have been scheduled ahead of the East Anglian derby's return on Sunday.

About 2,000 Norwich City supporters will travel to Portman Road for the 12:00 BST kick-off against Ipswich Town.

Four additional trains have been scheduled by Greater Anglia for before the match and two afterwards, alongside the scheduled hourly service between Norwich and Ipswich.

The rail company's area customer service manager, James Steward, said: "We know this match is very important to thousands of our customers."

The extra services will leave Norwich at 07:20, 08:15, 09:08 and 10:30, with all calling at Diss on the way to Ipswich.

After the game there will be services departing Ipswich at 14:25 and 15:10, also stopping at Diss on the way to Norwich.

Mr Steward added: "We always want to support large local events where possible and make it easy for people to travel to by train.

"Trains will run with the maximum number of carriages. Our new trains are longer and have more seats. However, we would ask everyone to be patient...
