The Carton House hotel in County Kildare was the place to be on Tuesday, as Manchester United stepped out to train on the first full day of our Irish camp.

With everyone settled in after Monday’s arrival, it was an early start as we rocked up for an action-packed day at the sprawling, picturesque facility.

First on the agenda was a meet and greet between the players and a number of guests, which included Westlife singer Nicky Byrne and Carla Rowe, captain of Dublin Ladies football team.

Also in attendance was young fan Harry McCormack and his family, who are all ardent Reds.

Harry, who lives locally, is a lifelong patient at Crumlin hospital in Dublin and has been unwell recently, so it was moving to see the squad put a smile on his face as they stopped to take photos and sign shirts, especially his favourite players Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko.

Harry is named after Munich hero Harry Gregg, and is one of seven siblings – all of whom share first names with former United players!
