A key element of Bryan Mbeumo's first season at Manchester United has been the relationship he's developed on the pitch with Amad.

It was apt, therefore, that it was that same duo who took part in a player press conference together in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon, during the Reds' four-day intensive training camp in the Republic of Ireland's capital.

Mbeumo joined from Brentford last summer, under former head coach Ruben Amorim, and was often deployed as a right-sided attacking midfielder at the beginning of the campaign, with Amad close by as a wing-back on the same flank, where their bond first flourished.

A formation change under Michael Carrick saw the Ivorian restored to more of a wide-forward role, reducing the scope for both men to play on the same side, but neither believe that has diminished their mutual spark.

"Yeah, at the beginning of the season [we were playing] the same [side], on the right," Amad told the assembled journalists. "I was playing as a wing-back and he was playing as a right [no.] 10.
