Liverpool and Real Madrid could reignite talks following reports that Eduardo Camavinga may become available this summer. Los Blancos, who secured Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer, are reportedly dissatisfied with the Frenchman's development and would contemplate selling him.

Madrid's impatience could present the Reds with an opportunity, though, given that they have monitored the player for several years. Alvaro Arbeloa's recent remarks may prove telling, as he laid the blame squarely at his midfielder's door following their latest La Liga defeat to Mallorca.

Pundits singled out Camavinga for failing to adequately track his runner in the build-up to Mallorca's opener against Real on Saturday. Madrid boss Arbeloa wasted no time in apportioning responsibility immediately after the final whistle, in a result that may well have ended their hopes of a La Liga title.

"On a play where we had the numerical advantage, a lapse in concentration cost us a goal," said the former Liverpool defender. "You lose your marker, you don't track him, and you pay the price."
