Newcastle United star Joe Willock is convinced that the Magpies can still make a strong finish to the Premier League season.

With seven games to go the 2025/26 campaign is in serious danger of fizzling out completely after two cup exits in a month and a slide down to 12th place in the table. A defeat to Sunderland and some omnious quotes from CEO David Hopkinson on Eddie Howe's future have left many wondering what comes next at St James' Park.

For the players, they will be desperate to get back to work on Sunday at Crystal Palace and start closing the gap on the European places with 21 points still to play for.

Willock told Chronicle Live: "We still believe in ourselves. And we believe we can put a consistent run together and continue winning games in the Premier League away from home and at home.

"So we have to show that we can keep going and show where we can go in the remainder of the season."
