Newcastle United will demand up to £90million to sell Sandro Tonali to Arsenal in the summer.

That is the verdict of former Magpies star Chris Waddle who believes Newcastle can reinvest that money to beat Manchester United to the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

Tonali has established himself as one of the leading midfielders in the Premier League across the last three seasons since joining Newcastle from AC Milan in a £55million move back in 2023.

But talk of a deadline day move to Arsenal in January has cast doubt over his future on Tyneside and after David Hopkinson admitted the club would be prepared if a major player leaves this summer, Tonali appears to be one of the front runners to do just that.

Any move for a player under contract until the summer of 2029 with an option to extend that deal by a further year will not be cheap and Waddle has warned Arsenal that Newcastle will play hard ball in the summer.
