The Lilywhites have already been looking to dip into the transfer market to bring in someone who can take over the goalkeeping reins from the former Udinese man.

While there had been a few rumours in the past weeks, the appointment of Roberto de Zerbi at the helm at Hotspur Way means Tottenham will now look to bring in someone who fits into his playing style. And who better to do so than one of his former players?

Tottenham have been looking to bring in Belgian keeper Bart Verbruggen. The North Londoners’ interest in him started making sense the moment RDZ walked into the corridors at Hotspur Way.

He is someone who is quite comfortable when receiving under pressure and has time and again shown how brave he can be with the ball at his feet. And this fits the brief under De Zerbi almost too perfectly after having played under him at Brighton before.

But it looks like Tottenham are no longer alone in the pursuit of his signing.
