Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben and former Magpies' director Mehrdad Ghodoussi both took to social media to heap praise on Kieran Trippier after his departure from the club was confirmed. When players leave football club's you rarely see club hierarchy comment on individuals aside from maybe the manager or the sporting director, which speaks volumes about Trippier's impact at the club.

The 35-year-old will leave St. James' Park when his contract comes to an end this summer, bringing an end to four years at the club. In that time, Trippier established himself as one of the best right-backs in the club's history and helped them win the Carabao Cup against Liverpool last season.

He was the first signing made by the current Magpies' ownership, acting as the catalyst for the major signings that would follow.
