Saturday brought news to Newcastle United fans that Kieran Trippier is leaving.

The United defender now set to leave this summer when his contract ends on 30 June 2026.

An official club statement this morning making the news public.

He was the very first of so many brilliant Eddie Howe signings at NUFC, Kieran Trippier led the way as the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn quickly followed in January 2022.

The United boss able to secure the superb England international due to his long-term relationship with Kieran Trippier. Eddie Howe originally signing the player from Manchester City back in 2011, when he was managing Burnley.

The Newcastle United defender getting emotional as he thanked the NUFC fans.

Kieran Trippier declaring: “The time has come to leave this amazing club after four-and-a-half years. This is where I have felt most at home. It’s emotional, and I’m really going to miss it. I want to say a massive thank you to the supporters for all the support through the good and the bad times. You’ve always supported me, always stood by me.”
