Jamie Carragher is hoping to see Arne Slot stay in charge of Liverpool after delivering a major trophy this season.

It has been a terrible second year with the Reds for Slot, who is facing calls for the sack after a shockingly bad Premier League title defence.

But with Liverpool still in the FA Cup and Champions League, Carragher has claimed that he wants the Dutchman to stay, because if he does, it will likely mean that the Reds have won another piece of silverware.

There has been a debate amongst Liverpool supporters this season over whether Slot should still be sacked if he wins a trophy.

Writing in the Telegraph, Carragher claims it is ‘inconceivable’ that the 47-year-old will be replaced if he wins either the Champions League or FA Cup.

As a result, the Scouser says it is for that reason he hopes to see Slot in the Anfield dugout once again next season.
