A record total of 48 teams have now qualified for the summer World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In just around nine weeks’ time on June 11th the largest-ever finals will get underway and occupy thousands of hours of coverage before the final on July 19th.

Each side who have qualified have their own stories of success and celebration.

None more so than Sweden.

Plucking victory from the jaws of defeat with manager Graham Potter triumphant after their qualification and winning victory over Poland thanks to a Gyokeres hat trick, the Swedes proved there is romance in football as they defied the odds from what seemed a hopeless position to make it through to the summer tournament.
