West Ham United’s Edson Álvarez could return to the pitch with Fenerbahçe later this month. 

Last August, West Ham let the midfielder join the Istanbul club on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Multiple injuries have limited the midfielder’s game time at Fenerbahçe. To put it in context, he’s missed over 100 days and 20 matches so far this season and is currently out of action.

The Mexico international underwent surgery in February for an ankle injury and is yet to return to the pitch. He played 1,125 minutes from 17 matches in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries so far.

His Süper Lig statistics per game are as follows:

  • Tackles: 2.5
  • Clearances: 0.9
  • Ball recovered: 5.0
  • Interceptions: 1.5
  • Duels won: 5.5
